Tinsel Trading Halloween Treasures

Happy Pink Saturday! I went to Tinsel Trading and I was chatting with the Owner Marcia and the girls that work there and was so excited on what a Magical Halloween Shop Tinsel was transformed too. Ideas were brewing and I was finally in the Halloween Spirit! Broo-Haha! As I was getting rung up for my treasures I turn around and do a second glance "Wait I screech!" How could I miss the fabulous Cabinet of Curiosities? They were laughing at me as I ran to the Cabinet and opened some draws and picked some treasures and all of a sudden the space was getting smaller. Was I Alice in Wonderland? Did I drink the Magic Potion? Ha I was surrounded by lots of Curious Witches.....(Good of course)! It was Magical we all bonded over vintage puff Pink Christmas Postcards and Vintage Pink packaged hair nets. I was Alice and I was in Tinsel Trading.

Sandy Sends me Halloween Treasures

My sweet friend (Cousin) Sandy sent me the sweetest Halloween treasure box. Cousin? You ask. Since she hosted a fabulous "Retro Beach Beauty Retreat" in Canada I call her that. It was more than a bunch of women bonding and creating fun art, it was a Cousin reunion! I love my Cousins and we all till this day when we see each other get super excited. In the cute decorated box was a book she created for the "Retro Beach Beauties" filled with fabulous photos and memories of the weekend in Canada. She also send me a Sock Monkey Skelly , Vampire Candy and a Witch Pillow. I have been admiring Sandy's pillows on her blog and can not believe I received one too! Sandy is so sweet and so generous and so very creative. I am over the moon for my treasures and my Cousin. xoox

Natalea Hosts a Halloween Ornament Swap

I started in August thinking I was not going to be in a Halloween Spirit this year. I was not going to drag my decorations out and it seemed like some friends who are always excited about Halloween were not. Then I received an e-mail from Natalea asking a group of friends "Retro Beach Babes" who met in Canada at Sandy's lovely home for a weekend of crafting and bonding and she spoiled us all, to join in a Halloween ornament swap.  We were to make 6 but only receive 5 back. One was going to our Sweet LuLu who had been through alot and Nat thought it would be sweet to lift her spirits with cute ornaments. So I looked through my stash and started creating. Normally I am a procrastinator but with this talented sweet group I had to get going. lol  I loved each and every one and I decided to decorate a little. I am so grateful for my Retro Beach Babe's they pulled me out of a funk and got me moving!! Please visit the girl's blogs they have so many fun decorations and lots of inspiration going on there and Vivian even has a "give-away"!

Pink Saturday - Breast Cancer PinksChopt' Salad

Happy Pink Saturday! October is all about the "PINK" it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  Every year NYC goes more over the top with helping us all be more aware and all the different organizations that donate or offer services for screenings. Estee Lauder has been a strong supporter  along with their spokesperson Elizabeth Hurley. Estee Lauder set up a trailer with information and history of some products and items they created for the month of October so we could purchase and they would donate to "Breast Cancer Research".  It was fun and informative.

I went for Salad at Chopt' one day and noticed the white bags with Pink writing and pretty Pink Bowls instead or their usual clear bowls in honor of October's Breast Cancer Awareness Month! Everyone is doing something and it is so nice to see all the Pink around us in support. Have a wonderful Pink Saturday to all. I hope you have a chance to visit my friend Beverly at How Sweet the Sound , our lovely Pink Saturday Hostess and all the other wonderful Pink Posts! xoox

Ghost on Broadway & Dinner at Becco

TKTS Booth for Cheap Broadway Tickets

My Niece Daniela and I love Broadway plays but the prices are so very high that we would never be able to see as many as we do if it were not for TKTS. TKTS is a discounted ticket booth for Off Broadway and Broadway plays. You have to get your tickets the day off the play or show and be flexible to what is playing. Seriously, if you are visiting NYC sign up for e-mail notifications for TKTS and see if your play or show is on often and if you do not want to risk not seeing it then pre-order tickets!

One day after work on our way home we both looked at each other and thought we would go see Ghost. We bought tickets and sat up close and enjoyed ourselves immensely. The cast was amazing. We did not have too high of expectations going to see it. We thought How can they possibly ever do the movie on Broadway and no Patrick Swayze or Whoopi Goldberg?  It was so fun and the special effects were great. Well that is "MY" opinion, some people did not like it as much as I did. Maybe they paid full price! lol After the show Daniela and I went to the side door and waited for the actors to come out and take pictures and get autographs. That was so fun seeing them all in street clothes and no stage make-up! Then we went to Becco and had an amazing Dinner. Becco is owned by Lidia Bastianich and her son Joe Bastianich.

We saw a couple who had gotten married take their wedding photo's in Times Square

Richard Fleeshman - Sam Wheat - (Patrick Swayze in the Movie)
Da'Vine Joy Randolph - Oda Mae Brown (Whoopi Goldberg in the movie)
Bryce Pinkham - Carl the scheming friend & my Niece Daniela
