The Day after Thanksgiving Me and my older Nieces went to Las Vegas. Daniela turned 25 and so we celebrated. One morning as the girls slept (I am a very early morning person) I walked to Serendipity for Breakfast. I like Serendipity in Las Vegas better than the original New York City one. Here in New York it takes forever to get a seat. Every time I go in I want to "spruce it up"! It is so much fun to go for Brunch in Vegas. I had the grits crusted Eggs Benedict which were different and yummy. Serendipity is known for its Frrrozen Hot Chocolate a legendary favorite, the famous Frrrozen Hot Chocolate blends 20 different kinds of chocolate into an icy, rich cocoa flavor that is decedent and evil! Evil for the butt and hips. lol More Las Vegas coming soon. xoox

Happy Pink Saturday and Happy New Year! I wanted to share some treasures 2 of my very great friends made me for Christmas. They both sent other things that I totally love but had to share the pinks. Ann Denise Anderson from Whim and Fancy Designs sent me this huge box that I thought maybe she wrapped herself in there and came to NY! I kept taking out all this Pink Paper and found so many treasures. She is just so talented words can not describe it. She made a gorgeous Pink Angel that broke my heart when I had to put it away with the Holiday decor. Then she made a gorgeous Marie Antoniette Tree topper but was difficult to put on my tree so this year stood on the side, then she made this adorable felt crepe paper Marie Dollie that is in my craft room looking so sweet. I had to also post about the most beautiful busts that will also stay out in my craft room and add style and class. hahaha If you live near Dallas Ann Denise is Hosting a wonderful Valentine workshop. My other Great Friend Cheryl from Nouveaux-Portmanteau Blog sent me the sweetest thoughtful gifts! Cheryl had hosted a apron swap and made gorgeous tote bags for everyone in the swap and made a gorgeous Pink one for me! I love it so much. Then she sent me other gifties but I had to post about my Pink Sugarplum Fairy she sent me. Cheryl added the "sweets to her arms" (pink cupcakes). I have such talented friends and so stinkin adorable too!!

Nutcracker Tea at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel - NYC

I had a fabulous "Nutcracker Tea" at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in New York City. I took a very fast elevator to the 35th floor to their lobby and waited a bit to be seated. Yes I did have reservations. The girl at the desk called my phone to see if I needed to reschedule! What? We are in New York how can this happen? lol She wound up being fine and we sat down. I was so not impressed at the decor. The Lounge is a sunken living room with spectacular views but this was the "Nutcracker Tea" There were No Nutcrackers! Ok Maybe a Nutcracker cookie? NO! The menu was so delicious and so well presented. The desserts were cute, I could not finish so they wrapped mine in a green take out box! Cuteness. I asked why it was called the "Nutcracker Tea" and was told since they are near Lincoln Center and that is where the very famous Nutcracker Ballet is performed they are hosting a tea! It was really great the food and views made it a wonderful experience. A must do in NYC especially before going to see the Nutcracker at Lincoln Center. Maybe next year it will be a little more characteristic. So glad I did this. Maybe I miss being chased by Soldier Boy or him popping up wherever I was, I thought I would come here and there he would be. He is where he belongs now in Christmas Storage Land with his new love......

Merry Pink Christmas!! On the 25th Day of New York Christmas I celebrate with the Plaza Hotel. It is always "magical" walking into the Plaza but as I walked in and saw a PINK Eloise Tree I said "eeek for me I am home"! lol I want to be Eloise and Live in the Plaza. Look at that Tree, the top has a gorgeous Eloise Angel done by Betsey Johnson to be raffled New Years Eve. Of course my name is in there a few times. Wish me "Eloise PINK Luck"! I always go downstairs to visit my friend Eloise and her shop and as I said hello to my fish friends I looked up and there she was Miss Betsey Johnson and her pop-up shop! Treasures!! Her adorable line is fabulous. I received a few as gifts and will share in the New Year. I have a dream to stay one night in the PINK Eloise Bedroom decorated by the Fabulous Miss Pink herself Betsey Johnson. It is quite expensive! I knew heaven was PINK! lol Have a Merry Pink Christmas! 23rd Day of NY Christmas - Citi Pond

On the 23rd Day of New York Christmas I went for a stroll at Bryant Park for a little shopping. Bryant Park is locate on 42nd between 5th and 6th Avenues right behind the Public Library. During the holidays wonderful hand made artisans set up little glass shops filled with treasures. There is also a few food a sweets places. There is skating and it is called "Citi Pond". As I watch the skaters and wait for my date to go have dinner at Celsius (a pop up restaurant)I look up at the sky and see the Empire State Building dressed in its Christmas colors of red and green. After dinner I visited a few of my favorite little shops and took a walk around. Look what I see??? A female Soldier for Soldier Boy! Oh how wonderful I must find him. I think he will love her right away, she is blond and tall. I am such a hopeless romantic! hohoho! xoox

22nd Day of NY Christmas - Macy's Windows

On the 22nd Day of New York Christmas I went shopping at Macy's the Worlds Largest Store that is open 24 hours during the Holiday Season. Their windows are always unique and different. Macy’s holiday windows are created by award-winning designer Paul Olszewski. This year the windows are done in a modern vintage Steampunk style, inspired by the “Make-a-Wish” Foundation. Macy’s has been making wishes come true during the holiday season for over 150 years, and the tradition continues this year. the story is about the magical transformation of holiday wishes and dreams into festive holiday ornaments! The 8th Floor has this magical Christmas Village that at the end you get to see Santa and on the 9th floor is jam packed with magical Christmas ornaments and displays. I see so many "Soldiers" here I feel like I am being watched. He couldn't possibly have caught up to me here since he moves so slow. I have alot of shopping to do I have to take a chance and stay!

21st Day of NY Christmas - Jingle Birthday

On the 21st Day of New York Christmas I went to Chelsea Market to Have a Jingles Birthday celebration for the lovely Sallianne from Art is You! We had dinner at Friedman's Lunch. I had fried chicken with macaroni and cheese just like the birthday girl. It was way too much.... When we arrived I received the cutest "Jingle" pin made by Sallianne and Betty. It was so wonderful to sit near Leslie and Tom and see Colleen and Patricia and my pal Francine who calls me "Gail", but that is ok I like it and Andrew (&ndrew)! lol After dinner I rushed to Penn Station to try to find Miz Bee Marlene! Go stuck in major NYC traffic and missed alot of the shopping at Jingles. I bought a few things and got to sing happy birthday to Sallianne who had a snowflake cookie cake with candles inside. We got to take a cookie and small eggnog home. It was a great evening. In the end we got to take a picture with Jill from Elements. She is "Jingles" and she has some of the cutest things that she creates. I saw so many Soldier Boys and girls there I was so confused and ran into a taxi glad to have missed him again!

On the 20th Day of New York Christmas I go to my 2nd favorite windows Lord and Taylor! I am a bit of a traditionalist and love old fashioned Christmas and they are always right on point! Lord & Taylor has been celebrating the holiday season by decorating their windows since 1938. This year's windows were inspired by an illustration from the 1940s that asked "What Is Christmas Made Of?" The displays feature illustrations drawn by children in response to this question, and scenes representing the kids' ideas, from sledding to seeing Santa. Oh my goodness Soldier is going into the store and didn't see me....Is he here for a gift for me?

They even invited me into their home for a party. All the girls were there. I think Soldier Boy (Sol Dier') is in the Cafe having some tea!

On the 17th Day of Christmas I had breakfast and skated with Santa at Rockefeller Center with my small nieces. We sat down and there was a ton of food and fruit. Santa's cute elf came around to give the small kids, (not me) a glittery ball elves stuffed dolls and a stocking full of goodies! Then for dessert we had gingerbread men and candy canes...to go of course. The the Big Man himself came. Look he was the "real deal"! Of course I had to take a picture with him....hehehe Mrs. Clause and Soldier Boy watch out.

On the 16th Day of NY Christmas I ran into the Sony Building and saw a gorgeous big snowflake with words and wishes and greetings. I stopped and gazed at it and I read "Dearest Pink in the City, Merry Everything! I am enjoying following you through your Magical Journey of NY. With luv, Sol Dier'!" I walked up to the computer screens and typed in thank you all in PINK!

On the 15th Day of New York Christmas I give you the "Christmas Tree and Neapolitan Baroque Creche" at the Metropolitan Museum. The beautiful pieces were a gift from Loretta Hines Howard in 1964 and have been beautifully displayed every year. They do a beautiful lighting ceremony with music that brings you to tears. No pictures are allowed at this exhibit! I could never do it justice anyway.

On the 14th Day of Christmas I go shopping bag crazy at Bloomingdale's. Their window display are of some of their old shopping bags. It looks really boring the bags are cute but then they twirl around and Magic, a cute diorama is displayed. 3 of the bags you have to press a star on the wall and pose for a camera and your photo pops up on top of the screen for all of 59th and Lexington Avenue to see! Oh nooooo there he is the Soldier! Of course he saw my picture and is looking all around. Wait is that wine I see besides him? Haha is is stuck behind the wine stores glass. 13th Day of NY Christmas - Saks

On the 13th Day of New York Christmas I walk out of Sephora to look at the windows at Saks. Must say, so not impressed. For the past few years it seems they have a new person in charge and have based their window design on a children's book. This year it is "Who Makes the Snow".It is about a little girl named Holly who walks through the doors of Saks to fill her curiosity and visits the land of the Bubble Makers. The book and story are very adorable and would make a great gift. The inside of the store is decorated the same with a white and gold winter wonderland. The Holiday Department is beautiful. Also this year Saks removed their famous "Snowflakes" that covered the Fifth Avenue side. When at Rockefeller Center and you walk away from the Tree you would see them all aglow. They had a cute display every half hour the windows look like they open up and bubbles and snowflakes come pouring out onto the building to music. OOOh There he is staring at the American Girl dolls, it is the Wooden Soldier. He hears the music and started to wiggle. I have to go more places to see.

Chocolate Bar with all the sweets and desserts going all around as you sit and enjoy some coffee or hot chocolate. Wonderful place to sit and relax.

On the 12th Day of NY Christmas I ran into Sephora where I knew I would be safe! The Fifth Avenue store has gorgeous window cutouts so pretty and whimsical. No Soldier or man would dare bother a woman in the store! (heheehee) I love Philosophy packaging all year long with their vintage images of children. During the Holidays I adore them even more. The names are also so stinkin cute.... Going to pay for my purchases, wait I see red peeping through the pretty cutouts could it be him???

On the 10th Day of New York Christmas I made a small pit stop before I got to my job. I stopped for makeup and accessories at Henri Bendel. I work for a company above the store! Yes it is dangerous and fun. lol The window display is so stinkin cute. The theme is Rockettes. Inside is a very tall gold tree holding a bright shiny apple to represent the Big Apple, New York. At the foot of the tree is a piggy, a PINK Piggy!! Oh my running through my lobby to take a rest and check in with my Pink Saturday friends! 9th Day of NY Christmas - Bergdorf Goodman

On the 9th Day of New York Christmas I run to Bergdorf Goodman at the suggestion of "Lamp Lady" (See post below). She told me there would be Magic at Bergdorf and Marie Antoniette would be sitting in the Christmas Department! The window display is amazing the theme is Carnival of Animals and my pictures can't possibly do it justice. The inside of the store is a "winter white" fairy tail dream come true. I headed to the decorations department and there was no sign of Marie Antoniette yet but lots of ornaments and a fireplace with stockings hanging and beautiful trees made from tin. I was enjoing the atmosphere when I spot Marie's hair! Oh noooo I gasped Monkey Marie Antoniette? How could this be? I have to run I have lots of places still to see....back to work I have to run!

8th Day Of NY Christmas - MacKenzie Childs

On the 8th Day of New York Christmas I hide in Mackenzie - Childs. I figured I could lose the "Wooden Soldier" in there. I did! Oh what a "MAGICAL" place Mackenzie - Childs is. On the 2nd floor I ran into a woman with a lampshade sitting on her head....I think she was hiding from the Soldier also. As I passed her I saw a cottage set up and I walked through the door I saw a big tree made with treasures from Mackenzie, a glass gingerbread house, a gorgeous table setting and a fireplace with hanging stockings. I didn't want to leave so I sat with Miss Lampshade to decide where I would go tomorrow.

On the 6th Day of New York Christmas we are Gaga over shopping at Barney's! Barney's has a "grand" Lady Gaga Entrance on the side Street and their windows are so "Gaga". Then you step up into the 5th floor the Men's department and there is so much fun things to buy. There is Nars Lip gloss and Deborah Lippmann nail polish, some cookies from Elenis,candies, a charm bracelet and eyelashes...ok there is even a kids and baby section!! I wish the onesies said "I was Born this Way"! I bought a bunch of gifts for you and for me!

5th Day of NY Christmas - Tinsel

Oh Swarovski Star you need some Tinsel for the tree? So on the 6th Day of NY Christmas we wish for Tinsel for the World. What is Christmas in NY without some shopping and classes at Tinsel Trading? I got to take a class at Tinsel Trading with Debby Schuh. She has an annual New York sight seeing and class event and I was lucky enough to attend the class. I got to meet all the wonderful women (1 man) that were on the tour and class event. What a fabulous teacher, venue and students. We made this beautiful picture frame with all new "October Afternoon" papers. Debby was so generous, we have so much gorgeous papers and embellishments left over for other projects. Marcia the Owner of Tinsel Trading let us use a bunch of trims and beads and had the best Cuban food from Havana Central and fun cupcakes. Lots of Tinsel and lots of decorations to decorate all the trees in NY.

Sallianne from Art Is You hosted a workshop with Sue Pelletier at her home. Sue taught us how to make the adorable snowmen that graced the cover of Cloth Paper Scissors a while back. Sallianne served 2 wonderful soups, bread and a gorgeous salad dressed by Betti Zucker. Betti also made a fabulous Martha Stewart pumpkin brownie that was incredible. Sue brought lots of pretty embelishments for us to play with and add to our snow people. My good friend Marlene Haveron brought me a few vintage fun shaped bottles for me to use. It was so wonderful seeing all the girls and giggling and creating such fun snow girls! Thank you Salianne for hosting a fabulous day and thank you Sue for such a wonderful class and for letting us use all your goodies. xoox

I love November!! My 2nd November goodie bag is from Hallmark. Every year they have an Open House and they have specials on rolls of wrapping paper cards and gifts. They give out refreshments and candy and cookies and a bag filled with gifts. They are different every year. This year was a big cookie jar, a pretty 2011 ornament, a small box of chocolate and the most aromatic Christmas candle from WoodWick. The wick is a wood stick and the aroma is so bright so holidayish. 2 more November Goodie Bags coming up.

I love November! I love it for Thanksgiving and the fall and all the family gathering and "Gift Bag Month"! I will start with Sephora. I went to their party that really just felt like another shopping day just with a 20% off coupon and DJ music. Then if you are a VIB they give you a tote bag. No nothing was inside. Bummer!! Oh I got a tiny piece of chocolate. One girl got 2 samples and me and my niece got nothing. So sad, since years go was so much fun to attend. The only fun part was spending it with my niece and getting 20% off. Did I mention I am addicted to makeup and creams and washes and accessories? lol Stay tinned for Hallmark open house "Gift Bag".

Happy Pink Saturday! I was at a beauty event and I looked over at the bottle and thought it was bubble bath. The shape is so gorgeous. It is called Qream. You can mix with alchahol. If you click on the website they have a story and recipes. My friends said the PINK tasted a little like strawberry. I am on a mission to find it. Happy Pink Saturday! This Saturday I want to thank our awesome Hostess Beverly from How Sweet the Sound for Blogging Friendships. I had the pleasure of finally meeting the very talented sweet Gabriela Delworth. We have chatted through the Blogosphere for many years and it was so much fun to finally catch up in person. Besides talking about her new fabulous book and flower press we talked about all the wonderful Pink Saturday and Blogosphere friends and about everything. I have to say I did not have enough time to chat! lol I took Gabriela and Ed to dinner at Tony di Napoli. We laughed so hard because we did not get appetizers so Gabriela could eat Magnolia cupcakes and instead there was enough food to feed 10 people! (over exaggeration) lol After dinner we walked to Magnolia and sat inside behind the skating rink at Rockefeller Center and had our lattes and cupcakes and they gave me a beautiful scarf and pretty Indian goodies. Before Gabriela and Ed left NY they came to "surprise" me at my office! I had the most shocked look but was so happy to have them for 1/2 hour more! It was too short of a visit.

Happy Pink Saturday! Last Saturday I was in Asheville, NC Finishing up a gorgeous day and event called Once Upon A Dream Hosted by Jennifer Hayslip from Sweet Eyecandy Creations! I had to share My Fairy Laurel swap Hosted By the Fairy Queen herself Karla Nathan from Karla's Cottage. I promise to post about the whole event and of the "SWAPS".

My Swap partner was the so sweet adorable Heidi from Sugah Beez. Heidi had introduced herself but did not mention she was my swap partner. I don't know why it just didn't click. But I was by Karla's vendor table and was talking to her and speaking about swaps and I asked "wait...are you my Heidi? My swap partner?" SHe laughed and said yes and thought I had "gotten" it earlier! lol But we were friends and just clicked right away. She made an adorable Fairy Laurel for me and I love it. Happy Pink Saturday! I am Grace and I love New York, Pink and Pink Saturday. I am always looking for fun things I can post on Pink Saturday. I was walking down 36th Street in NYC and saw all these pink goodies I did a double take because at first I thought it was a pastry shop but instead it was "Spa Lab". Yes you heard right it is a "spa". The owner hand created all these amazing "sweets" that look like: cake, canoli, cupcakes, chocolates and fortune cookies but are really SOAP!!
I love to craft. I love to go see plays, I love to go try different restaurants and to explore the City! I hope you have time to come and visit my blog and leave me a comment. Fashion Night Out - Henri Bendel Pinks

Fashion Night Out Henri Bendel Style - New York City! It was a crazy Thursday night I am doing posts on FNO "backwards". Henri Bendel is a fabulous Make-up Accessory store on Fifth Avenue that also houses the amazing Frederic Fekkai hair salon. I thought since it was Pink Saturday and Henri was all decked out in its Pink Glittery Best I would start here. They had a showgirls theme with a gorgeous chandelier in the middle, the 3rd floor had a live band and amazing cupcakes from Millie Peartree, crepes filled with Nutella chocolate and any fruit you desire. Straight up Nutella please! They also had wraps and coffee and ginger beer. A Pink Fabulous Party! I actually work in offices about Henri Bendel and always am amazed at their displays. 2 of my favorite Magazines are out!! Somerset Holiday & Celebrations and Martha Stewart Halloween. I heard Martha was out but couldn't find it. I went to Costco and there they both were! Costco? Yes. They are a must. And in Somerset on the inside flap see an ad for Somerset's new magazine "Mingle" Out October 1, 2011. (Creative ideas for unique gatherings) On the top right hand corner is an adorable picture of Jennifer Hayslip from Sweet Eye Candy Creations. I was just reading some blogs and my wonderful Blog friend "Laura McCollough" from A Kiss on the Cheek blogged about Somerset and how she was in it so I went to read! When you visit look at the right sidebar and read about the beautiful event in Bellaggio, Italy in 2012 that she is hosting!

Welcome Laduree Paris to Madison Avenue in NYC! I am beyond "tickled pink" with excitement. I got out of work early and walked fast to Madison Avenue and 71st street. I stood on line for an hour and a half all for a Pink Saturday post...oh the dedication I know. lol There was a slight problem with credit card machine going down every so often but the well dressed very sweet employees handled the crowds with ease and grace. I wanted a pink box of course so I picked six favorite macaroons and watched as they placed them in my little pink box! it can be held like a pocket book on the wrist held by a plastic bow. Fabulousness! Everything was so special and so pretty from the ribbons to the boxes to the tissue paper and stickers. I will definitely be back. It was so wonderful to see Madison Avenue buzzing with excitement. Laduree is right next door to Juicy Couture so much Pink happiness on one street! I heard a little rumour that a little seating area will be coming next year. My favorite is still in Paris on the Champs de Elysee.

Smurf Week Day 3 - Build a Bear

Build a Bear on Fifth Avenue was the best of the Events of Smurf Week I attended. They had it all decorated fun and handed out paper "Smurf" hats, lined people up that wanted a picture with Smurfette and Clumsy Smurf and gave them a cute goody bag filled with stickers and little Smurf toys and gifts and if you just wanted to avoid the line you still got a cute paper hat got to enjoy the festivities. So many grown ups and children getting their Smurfette and Smurf dolled filled. After I went through Central Park to Belvedere Castle to see more smurfs and see the castle they filmed at in the movie. Well, there were 2 women Park Rangers who were not being very friendly and were keeping everything a secret! When Smurfs were mentioned or Smurf Week they said in stereo "noooooooo" there is no such thing! Well it was at least wonderful as always to walk through Central Park and find different paths and routes and people watch. The Castle is always gorgeous to see and glad I got to go. I know there is nothing "Pink" in this post but I am sharing this for Pink Saturday. Smurf Week - Day 2 FAO Schwartz

DAY 2 of Smurf Week in NYC I got to go to FAO Schwartz to see the famous "Smurfulator" from the movie and met a Smurf. The event was supposed to be from 2 to 4 but apparently they did not have enough "Smurf" dolls on hand and sold most in the AM. A bunch of people were waiting for some sort of "organization" but no one knew what was supposed to happen and the only 2 that had their "Smurf" white hats on were 2 young people showing how to play a Smurf game and the young girl was putting tattoos on little children. The rest of the Smurf Staff thought they were too cool and maybe should apply to Abercombie! I asked an adult FAO Schwartz Employee if they had anymore Smurf small stuffed dolls and he said no and not that many big ones either. They did not expect them to sell out like that! What?? Who is FAO's marketing director? I heard a lady ask where her child could take a picture with the Smurf and they said "He went on a break he was out this morning and just walks around". It was cute all in all and hopefully if they have future events they will have a "Staff" member in charge of all the fun and organization. In all fairness the event is for a few more days and was until 4:00 PM, so I am sure they will have a better system and give out goodie bags and gifts. This is fun to go to different Smurf events! Smurf Week in NYC - Day 1

It is Smurf Week in NYC this week from July 25th to July 29th to celebrate the release of the Smurfs movie which opens July 29. The Smurfs Trailer shows them being in NYC on an adventure. If you click on the link:www.nycgo.com/smurfsweeknyc it will give you a list of things to do. Most of the events are during the workday for children and so I can not go but on Monday the first day I went to Columbus Circle across from Time Warner at the Merchant's Gate at Central Park to see Smurf Village! Of course it was pouring rain so they started closing shop at 6:00PM. It was so fun to see a big Blue giant Smurf waving as the cabs and people went by shocked! The mushroom house was being deflated as I got there but you can still tell how cute it was! The Empire State Building was lit "Blue" to Celebrate UNICEF being 60 years Young and the Smurfs are Blue! Benefit Cosmetics - Pink Saturday

Happy Pink Saturday! I was at a Benefit Cosmetics event in Rye New York, Hosted by Gilt Group and Hpnotiq as a sponsor. It is fun going to these events with my Niece Daniela since she is living with me and working in the City. I wish my Niece Kristina, her sister lived closer so she could come also. The evening started being greeted by Gilt Group Hostess (sorry I forgot her name). She had recognized us from another event! Also there to greet us was Kelly from Benefit Cosmetics. The store is amazing so adorable and sweet. We received a choice of eyebrow waxing or threading. Both me and Daniela chose the waxing. After we sat and got our make-up done by Kelly and then we had pretty purple drinks made by a cute Hpnotiq Mix Master with a glow stick inside the glass and enjoyed the adorable "Sweets" Bar. The store is Pink and yellow and the girls wear the cutest vintage aprons. Benefit has the cutest packaging. Everything is so vintage / retro decorated. There were 2 women Kelly "dolled" up before me and Daniela and they were concerned that Benefit Cosmetics was too "young" for them. I yelled Nooooooooo!! lol They looked so amazing and they bought 1 of everything! Everyone from every age will love it! I had so much fun thank you Gilt Group, Benefit and Hpnotiq!

Happy Pink Saturday and Happy Fourth of July Weekend! I wanted to share a visit to NY from Hope Wallace of Besottment by Paper Relics. Hope was going to spend a few days with her good friend Danielle from The Vintage Dragonfly, and so I got to spend a few hours with Hope. We had Brunch at the Plaza, she made me a wonderful cute journal, we went to Henri Bendel and then met Danielle and went to H&M where it was so hot they had huge fans blowing and the girls were striking a pose! Too stinkin cute! We had cupcakes from Magnolia and ate them in 30 Rock and took a cab ride to Flat Iron to Paper Presentation! Then me and Hope tried a small cupcake at Cupcake Cafe (see post below) and I left the girls to go enjoy their girlfriend time! It was so nice to see both of them. So many giggles and wonderful conversations about History....Danielle's question to Hope: "How do you feel about George and Martha Washington?" So on that note enjoy your weekend! I was at the supermarket and saw Jiffy Pop Popcorn and giggled to myself. Well...I thought to myself but 3 women and a man turned and looked at me like I had lost it. When I was little I would go to my Aunt Rose's house and she would buy this so I could pop for my cousins. I was a little older and always helped cooking so I was in charge! We would all stare as the aluminum popped up. We always screamed as we got to the end because we thought it would explode, but when it didn't we would laugh. I remember 2 times the bottom kernels burnt (I was too little to shake fast and hard)! Hey it is my story and that is what I am going with..lol I opened the top with a knife and we ate it all happy and when my cousin Rosy got to the bottom she said "you burnt it"! I looked at her and seriously said "I like it like that"! We were all happy. She humored me and I was only 1 year and a few months older. Obviously this was pre microwave. Happy 3rd Birthday Pink Saturday!! I saved one of my birthday dinners for this day to celebrate Pink Saturday. My friend Marlene took me to Mr. Kay's in NYC. It is one of my favorite places but had not gone in years. It was my special place with my ex boyfriend and just was odd I never had gone back. Funny I thought "oh my goodness Mr. Kay's would be a perfect Pink Saturday post"! lol I had so much fun we laughed so hard. President's have eaten there and actors and very wealthy famous people also and they have 2 sets each of chopsticks for each person. I am always amazed at the service. Every time you move they come and fix your napkin or fill your drink glass. I had Diet Coke and the tiny pitcher was near me and I "made eye contact" and pow there he was filling my glass. Everything is a pretty light pink, even the plates. The food is incredible and we picked 2 different dinners and they split and plated them for us. You do nothing except sit back and enjoy. Then the amazing coffee pot comes out and the water is on the bottom coffee beans on top, they light from the bottom at the table and the water brews upwards into the beans for a fresh tasty coffee.

When I was a little girl my Nonno (grandfather in Italian)I would follow everywhere. I would wake up at 4 years old at 4 am dressed so I could go with my dad and nonno to buy meat at the Meatpacking District, that is now a chic shopping, lofts and eating neighborhood. I used to love going to the local pharmacy because they sold toys in packages and bouncy balls in pink. He never said "NO" if I would ask for something he would say, "Ok place the order and we will come back and bring the big truck so we can carry everything". It worked I told him everything I wanted and I always fell for it and loved spending time with him. So when I was in Brimfield and saw all this amazing furniture and goodies I actually laughed out loud a few times thinking of my "Nonno" and that I would get my truck filled with goodies one day. So I settled for pictures. I have a fascination for "Vanity Tables"! Yes I could never find the perfect one and in Brimfield I found 4 perfect ones. I love the curio cabinet in the last picture just not the color and so I will wait for the truck to arrive one day.....xoox

My friend Beverly and I woke up early Saturday morning had breakfast at our hotel and rushed to do a quick pick up of items we did not carry Friday, then we were going to park her car and shop. Well We ran into Rosemary Warren the very talented creative director of Tinsel Trading Co. She was trying to just get rid of everything in her booth because she is moving to LA soon and so we saw a 7 foot Curio and she said if you take it you can have it for $50! Um Beverly said "MINE"...and we all looked at her like she was nuts. How was she fitting an "octagon in a triangle"? ahaha I stopped doubting and accepted that women are awesome packers and awesome basically at everything! hahaa Well one woman said she would eat her hat if it went in and Rosemary said forget it I will give you your money back..2 strong gentlemen showed up and they said "no way" but tried and the "octagon fit perfectly in the triangle", with just a drop hanging out with a 5 hour drive for Beverly to go later that day and all went well. We were trying to find a hat for the lady to eat! lol Never doubt a professional junkin shopper!! Oh by the way we fit "lots" more things in that car inside curio around curio and even stopped at a nursery so I could buy a beautiful huge hanging plant!! xoox

Pink Saturday - Summer and the City

Happy Pink Saturday! I went to a cocktail party hosted by the Gilt Groupe for Author Candace Bushnell (Sex and the City)at the very chic Gansvoort Hotel on Park Avenue South in NYC. She has a new book "Summer and the City", that looks like a cute PINK clutch. Perfect for Pink Saturday. It was held in the Penthouse and surrounded by wall to floor windows and open doors leading to the most fabulous backdrop of "The City", the Empire State Building staring down as us like Mr. Big. Hmm that will be my name for it from now on! The pool had the cutest pin up girl made with tiny tiles. We sipped champagne, cocktails and of course Pink cosmos as the most perfect Hors d'oeuvres were passed around. They had chocolates that tasted like heaven from Christine Eats. A pretty Pink box with a shadow silhouette of a pin up girl and the chocolates were white chocolate with pink polka dots and chocolate brown with pink polka dots. My birthday is next Friday so I will not get a chance to start reading this book....but I can't wait to and when I do I will let you know how it is. I am sure "Fabulous"! Happy Easter! This morning I went to Mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral and after I strolled Fifth Ave and saw some wonderful Easter bonnets. My favorite are the old fashioned dressed people. I can imagine as they strolled the streets in the 40's. After I went home and enjoyed a lovely Easter Day with family! Perfect Hot Day. xoox

Jacques Torres is an amazingly talented man! He has several chocolate shops in NYC and this new one in Rockefeller Center. They have wonderful individual chocolates and a fabulous coffee hot chocolate bar and tables where you can sit and enjoy your goodies.

I love this wonderful rooster! I love the bunny also and if it was "PINK" then really would be but this rooster is gorgeous!

My camera settings were off so I apologize for the bad pictures. I finally called Cannon to reset the camera.

I had Dinner at Lavo NYC. It was such a fun place. Not my first time but I guess the company I was with this time was better! They have a location in Vegas that also is wonderful and they are the same owners of TAO. Lavo is an Italian restaurant, Lounge and Nightclub. The decor reminds me of a French Bistro, simple vintage smoked mirrors and tiled walls and floors. We could not decide what to eat so we shared the scrumptious meal below. I was trying to count Weight Watcher points but then arrived the Zeppole Deep Fried Oreos and so I gave it up! lol I had so many people comment on Facebook about deep fried food, street and fair foods but this is different! It is gourmet, not greasy at all. Not saying street fried and fair fried foods are not good! But this is different. So the rest of the week I will be a good Weight Watcher's Girl and work out a little more to burn off the 2 Oreo's I ate.

Happy Pink Saturday and Happy April! I am so ready for the beautiful Spring weather but have had no luck yet. I had to share this fun swap hosted by Jennifer Babcock from Covered in Glitter. It was actually quite funny my swap partner was my awesomest friend Cheryl from Nouveaux Portmanteau. We signed up last and so wound up with each other and last week when I visited we swapped! Cheryl is one of my greatest friends. She is so giving so attentive to every detail and just so talented and crafty. Look at Marie and the birdie and the gorgeous tulle topper she made. The pictures just do not "honor" it as it deserves. I just posted the Tussie Mussie / Cones and next week will post "ALL" the fabulous goodies she made and gave me...(sneak a pink table)! Happy Pink Saturday! Last Saturday I went to visit my awesome friend Cheryl from nouveaux-portmanteau blog. (we were each others swap partners but will post that next Saturday)She had a perfect Itinerary for us starting with Lunch in Asbury Park with our wonderful friend Carla Gizzi who has a beautiful shop in Asbury and another in Red Bank, NJ. We laughed and chatted and I wish we had more time together. We parted after a wonderful lunch and met my dear dear friend Beverly (no blog yet)at a ribbon store. I was so quiet...yes me! lol I was so overwhelmed and so excited. I will blog more about this during the week. We went to so many wonderful shops laughed till we wet our pants (Cheryl); no she did not and then we parted. Car filled to the brim. So here is a fabulous little taste of some Pink ribbons. These ribbons now make me smile thinking about all we talked about and laughed about, our sisterhood and friendship. Where Women Cook Launch Party

Better late than never? I actually worked out good to post about "Where Women Cook" Launch Party because the new issue is out! In the 2nd it had pictures of the Party and I am in 1! Ok, I do cook but I am just a fan waiting for an autograph in this picture (see below). I love Jo Packham and her visions with her magazine's. What will be next for Jo? Where Women Market? hmmmm I love the idea maybe we can have flea markets big and small and antique stores and centers all around the world!

Women came from all over to attend the Launch. Some were in the area visiting and had to come by and some read on friend's blogs and all had to stop in and help to celebrate "Women" and the Magazine! It was a sisterhood of the blog and craft world. I was so thrilled to meet some blog friends and hug and squeeze and catch up with crafters. Some were teachers, some students, some were bloggers and some just stopped in to see what it was all about, but the admiration for one another was so heart warming. I could talk about all these incredible women one by one and I would have posts for the whole year. I have a few websites or blog's over the pictures so you can catch up and visit with all these amazing women. I am sorry there were a few that were not in pictures I had taken. So go out pick up a "Where Women Cook and Where Women Create" sit with some girlfriends have some pink martini's and enjoy! Women need to stick together and support each other more.... xoox

Happy Pink & Green Saturday! I was thinking all week what to post that would be Pink and Green and then I stopped by Tinsel Trading and the very talented Rosemary Warren (Creative Director) was decorating the windows for Easter. Roe (Rosemary) was so excited to see me and tell me about a good friend who owns the "FABULOUS" Lily O'Brien's chocolate cafe on 40th between 5th and 6th Avenue's, across the street from Bryant Park. Roe also designs for them. I keep missing Roe and today is her Birthday so she could not meet with me this time. But I thought it would be fun to stop by and post for my Pink and Green Saturday post. I promise to be back for their Easter display and meet with Rosemary so she can tell us all how she gets inspired and designs such beautiful displays. Happy Birthday Rosemary! Eataly - Oil Tasting

On Saturday evening I was invited to Eataly for an "Olive Oil Uncovered" class with Nicholas Coleman. In the class Nicholas taught us how to taste oil and the Executive Chef Alex Pilas made us dishes that the oil complimented. Olive Oil tasting is so similar to wine tasting. Nicholas goes to Tuscany every year for the "harvest" at a small villa and helps pick and clean and then take to the mill to press the oil. The best olive oil that you should be looking for has a D.O.P label on the bottle (Italian: Denominazione di Origine Protetta English:Protected Destination of Origin). DOP is a guarantee for you, the consumer and you can be assured that the whole product process, from the rough material to the final bottle, has been executed within the specified area which is known to provide quality olive oil.

How to taste Olive Oil: The oil usually is placed in a blue small rounded cup, placed and cuped in your palm with both hands and swirl for 40 seconds. This will warm the oil. Then basically you slurp and swallow slowly.

As the oil slid down the throat the peppery taste made some cough.

Oil Used: ROI: Cru Riva Gianca - from the comune of Poggi, a province of Imperia, in Liguria. This oil was very light and sweet. Not sugar sweet but a delicate balance of taste and a very slight taste of pepper. This oil is wonderful for fish and vegetables where you do not want the flavor of the oil to dominate the dish.

Oil Used: Frantoio Franci: I.G.P Toscano- from the regionMontenero d'Orcia in Tuscany. This oil was "grassy" and distinctive peppery notes. This was the first of the robust oils which are wonderful for bread dipping (my favorite) and salads, as well as cutting through rich sauces, meats and soups. $24.80 at Eataly

Oil Used: Frantoi Cutrera: Primo D.O.P. Monti Iblei - from the region of Chiramonte, Sicily. This was the strongest very peppery as it slid down the throat. I found is so facinating that as you taste it on bread or on the food it does not taste like pepper. Eataly and Mario Battali's Restaraunt Otto use this oil the most. The olives for this oil are harvested really early and picked green. It is known for its robust, green tomatoe and peppery profile. This oil is great with seafood, vegetables,pizza and pasta.

Oil Used: La Mola: D.O.P. Sabina - from the region of Sabina Rieti, Lazio. This is a round, mid bodied oil with soft buttery undertones or grass and a slow building peppery finish. This oil has a balanced structure so this oil pairs well with both meats and soups, yet remains light enough for grilled fish and fresh vegetables.

Park Avenue Roses - Pink Valentine Saturday

Happy Pink Saturday Valentine Weekend! Is it Winter in NYC or is it Spring? I was frozen as the wind burnt my face walking along Park Avenue, but the gorgeous Rose display from 57th Street to 67th Street just melted my heart. The Pinks and Reds were so bright the ladybug's were so darling perched on the stem. The Rose Display is going to be on display until May 31, so if you get a chance please visit. I know that the snow will be back and I will be on Park Avenue to take pictures of the snow filled roses! I think I need to have a Pink Saturday photo shoot on May 6 to celebrate my birthday! Oh I need to go shopping to buy some pink! The Artist that designed this display is Will Ryman. So my Pink Saturday Valentine gift to all who visit are these beautiful roses...I hope you enjoy them! Pink Saturday - Godiva Fifth Avenue Style

Happy Pink Saturday to all! Godiva Chocolates opened a fabulous store on Fifth Avenue. As you step on the sidewalk on Fifth Avenue you are welcomed and lead by a plush red carpet to a gorgeous window display of a chocolate desk, chocolate chandeliers and flowers. Once you open the doors and go through the rich red drapes you are welcomed by a man or woman holding a silver try serving beautiful samples. The store is decorated with red drapes and chocolate chandeliers and rows of pretty boxes with gorgeous flowers and a cute teddy bear ready to go home with you. I was so enamoured with the most beautiful Godiva chocolate mail box decorated with hearts and love! They explained that not all the stores are decorated this way. I hope you enjoy the eye candy my sweets!

I love Sephora and I love Hello Kitty and I "LOVE" that the two teamed up for a limited edition make-up, perfume, mirrors, nail polish and nail art exclusive event! I wanted the hand held mirror, compact mirror and a necklace with perfume inside, but they were sold out at one location. I was like a little girl in a PINK candy shop. My awesome friend Ann Denise who lives in Ft. Worth Texas sent me this stinkin cute "PINK" haired Dolly! She made it just for me. I was very blessed to stay at her home in October and got to stare at her as I chatted drank soda and she created away! There was no agenda she just kept making me things from the top of her head. I kept saying "oh my goodness" and scratching my head. She teaches at lots of stores in Texas and Oklahoma and is very involved in Paper Cowgirl event along with Cindy Mayfield.
