Beauty & Essex - Gatsby Glamour

Beauty & Essex reminds me of "The Great Gatsby". It is located at: 146 Essex Street, NYC and owned by the same "Crew" from the Stanton Social. When you check the address and see an old sign in the background and then "Beauty & Essex" over it and you see a "Pawn" shop in the storefront you think to yourself "this just can not be it"! Ha I walked in just to see the "Pawn" shop. What fun treasures. Then you walk through a huge blue door and enter BEAUTY! This location used to be M. Katz Furniture Store and now it is a Pawn Shop, Lounge - Speakeasy, and a Restaurant......Wait, there is a free champagne bar in the ladies room lounge! The food is wonderful such fun little dishes. I heard that there Sunday Brunch is wonderful. The atmosphere is fun, Party, Gatsby Glamour! Not too many restaurants have hit my "must" heart strings but this definitely did! I was planning on taking a friend and her friends but they never contacted me that they were in town..oh well will have to save it for a wonderful friend coming in June!  I am on a Gatsby kick and have a few more fun posts, so I hope you will come back! xoox

Hi Grace! Oh, my goodness! What an amazing place and I'm sure you had a great time. The food looks so yummy too! Thanks for popping in to see me and we're planning on coming to New York to visit our grand baby next month. We'll fly into Newark and then taking the train. I can't wait.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia :)
