Easter Bonnet Parade - Fifth Ave NYC

Happy Easter! This morning I went to Mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral and after I strolled Fifth Ave and saw some wonderful Easter bonnets. My favorite are the old fashioned dressed people. I can imagine as they strolled the streets in the 40's. After I went home and enjoyed a lovely Easter Day with family! Perfect Hot Day. xoox

Pretty Flowers decorated for Easter at Rockefeller Center

The people who made this Brooklyn Bridge out of Metro Cards asked if I wanted to try it on. lol Of course I said YES! it was heavy!

What fun to see all the photos. My church was overflowing today and I can't imagine how full St Patrick's Cathedral was.

Nice bonnet Grace, LOL.
I didn't know there was a bonnet parade in the city?
Some of those are pretty wild all right.

Oh Grace Sweetie...
What fun you had. I love the photo of the Brooklyn Bridge. It does look SO heavy.

The family dressed as Alice in Wonderland, I loved that one. Jelly bean hat, oh my what beautiful flowers. I had no idea that I have been missing a beautiful event in your area. How wonderful. I am so tickled that you got out in the crowd, and you shared.

Thank you sweetie. Many hugs and much love, Sherry

WOW they go all out for Easter in NYC - but then I would expect nothing less!

What time will the wedding be on for you over there? I have my 2 aunts, mum and sister-in-law all over to watch and at the moment not sure which channel to watch it on as they’ll all be covering it!!

As you probably know in the UK we get the day off for it and there’s another annual holiday on the Monday so it’s only 3 day week for me this week and then 4 days next week so can’t complain too much!

Grace!

I enjoyed seeing this so much, and I love St. Patrick's Cathedral. I have been there twice when visiting NYC. Lovely church.

My favorite time I spent in NYC was on Easter many years ago. I loved all the decorations in the stores and the Easter Parade down Fifth Avenue and having tea and Brunch at the Plaza's Palm Court and the whole shebang. This brings back fun memories! The highlight of the trip, though, was going to Easter services at St. Thomas Episcopal Church and seeing Vanessa Redgrave sweep in dressed in a cape! She was always such a stunning actress that I couldn't believe my eyes, and I loved how the ushers there wore morning coats. It was just stellar.

You know I love NYC, and I always love your posts SO much! THanks for sharing, Grace!

xo,

Sheila :-)

Grace I've always wanted to see the informal "Easter Parade" down Fifth Ave but I am usually with family on Easter and can't go to St. Pat's. This year I was in Colorado spending the holiday with my grandsons, so and DIL. We got to hold the new baby for the first time!

It was so nice to see some of the fun Easter bonnets and dresses here on your blog. I want to eat that jelly bean hat ..lol!

I hope you had a very joyful Easter!

How fun. Not sure if I want to walk in an Easter Parade while holding my hat. No fun in that.
