Tiffany & Co. Christmas in NYC December 2, 2016

On the 2nd Day of December we step into the UNICEF Snowflake Portal into New York City Christmas Magic and where better to slide out to but Tiffany & Co. Tiffany's facade is decorated with lighted jewels that line the store from top to bottom from 57th Street to Fifth Avenue side. Note: Tiffany's is opened and easy still to get in side and shop. You can either go through the Fifth Avenue entrance but enter on the corner of 57th Street or enter on 57th side of the building.

The windows are filled with real diamonds, jewels and pearls nestled between the New York Landmarks window displays.

December 1 UNICEF Snowflake NYC

On the First Day of December 2016 I thought I would start my post with the Beautiful UNICEF Snowflake. To me the Snowflake symbolizes light of hope and it is the portal to the Holiday Extravaganza of New York City.

The UNICEF Snowflake is made from 16,000 Baccarat Crystals, 3,300pounds and 28 feet tall. It Hangs Majestically on the corner of Fifth Avenue and 57th Street in New York City. This is a symbol of hope that one day zero children die from preventable causes.

Korea Town New York City

Hi Friends. I am going to take you on a little tour of Korea Town in New York City. Korea Town is located on 32nd Street between 5th and 6th Avenues. There are roughly 100 businesses located here. What is fascinating is that even though it is a small street and you wonder where would they fit 100 businesses you look up and smile. Yes they just have businesses all the way up in various floors. One thing I noticed was there are lots of Karaoke Lounges. Seems like a really fun group to me. I enjoyed exploring and trying different things and I hope that you get to visit and love it just as much as I do.

These dumplings "pocket buns" were huge and filled with different flavors and meats and also had a sweet potato one that was my favorite.
These little fish shaped cakes taste like mini pancakes, some are filled some are plain. I like the plain the best.

Van Gogh's Ear Rockefeller Center Art

I could sit and watch all the tourists pass and stare and comment at this art installation at the entrance of Rockefeller Center and Fifth Avenue in New York City. Funded by Public Art Fund created by Elmgreen and Dragset this depiction of Van Gogh's Ear which is a pool on the side is catching lots of attention. I have heard "Only in New York" comments and also heard and watched people stare at the pool like it is a fascinating painting and studying it's angles. I love it. One can say Van Gogh was insane cutting off his ear and one can also say it is insane to see an upright pool on Fifth Avenue! The Art Installation will be up from April 13, 2016 to June 3, 2016 at Fifth Avenue between 49th & 50th Streets.

Van Gogh's Ear or an  Upright Pool?

Easter Bonnet Parade in NYC

Warning this post picture heavy:

Easter Sunday on New York City's Fifth Avenue was filled with lots of bright colors and interesting "Bonnets". It was the Annual Easter Bonnet Parade from 49th Street to 56th Street. It is not your normal parade with floats and marchers and bands but it is as colorful and as fun. The streets are closed off to traffic at this time and everyone walks around wearing their fabulously decorated bonnets and others acting like the paparazzi trying to get a picture of the masterpieces (ME). Fifth Avenue seems magical on this day as the doors of St. Patrick's Cathedral swing open after mass and parishioners in their Easter finest come out into the parade of bonnets. Rockefeller Center is decorated with a giant topiary bunny balancing an Easter Egg on his nose and a big bush tail that seemed to wiggle with glee. Lining Chanel Gardens on both sides were big colorful adorned Eggs. If you are ever in NYC during Easter it is a must to see and participate in. I hope you have fun looking at the pictures xoox
