Pink Saturday at The Plaza Hotel with Eloise

Beverly from "How Sweet the Sound" thought we would have a problem with Pink Saturday and is excusing us from Pink and asking a question a week. I actually am finding lots of Pink fun things for Christmas but will also answer the question and this week it is: Tell us one of your childhood memories about a special holiday. My special memory of Christmas is going into New York City with my Mom to look at the decorated windows of all the stores and having tea at the Plaza Hotel. We would get dressed up every year and walk by all the famous store windows, have tea and pasteries at the Plaza and talk about what our favorite was this year, then we would go visit Santa at Macy's. We still do this together even though I get to see it everyday. I hope you go on over to Beverly's blog and read what she and the other women have to celebrate Pink Saturday.

To Celebrate Pink Saturday I have pictures of the Plaza Hotel and the "new" Eloise store. Eloise is a movie and book on a little very energetic little rich girl that lived at the Plaza Hotel and got in lots of little dilemas. I even got to see two of the Rockettes. I hope you enjoy.

Grace! This is such a great post. How special it was for you and your mom to do tea at the Plaza and see all the windows. NYC at Christmas must be truly magical. I have always wanted to go for Christmas, but I've not made it there yet. One day!

One of my favorite memories of NYC was tea at the Plaza with Mr. Magpie, and we had Easter Brunch there, too. We stayed there on a visit, and it is a magical place. Has it been turned back into a hotel??? I would love that! I know it was turned into condos, but I miss it as a hotel. It was my favorite place in NYC to stay.

Look at you with the rockettes! What fun! And the Eloise store looks adorable. Thanks for sharing...

Happy PS...

XO,

Sheila :-)

Oh Grace...
I love this pink post. I love the pic of you with the Rockettes. How on earth did you get that one? Aren't they absolutely beautiful? I always loved watching them on TV. Your shopping experience is so breathtaking. I would so love to go to the Plaza Hotel for lunch, and you have taken me. Thank you sweetie.

I love the Eloise store. Wouldn't that be fun to shop there? I have 4little grand daughters and what fun, I could have with a couple of them at least. I love the picture of all the little Eloise dolls poking out of the box. You do beautiful photography.

Thank your for sharing today. Please stop by and let me share my pink post with you. I think you will love my memory.

Country hugs...Sherry

Grace ~ be still my heart! We have gone to The Plaza many times with our daughter for tea! Never at Christmas but it was still special. We visited their little gift shop then but now I see they have re-done it - I guess when they changed over to part condos?

The first time we took our daughter, Ashley, to tea was on her 13th birthday. It was so special and the violinist came over and played Happy Birthday to her.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE ELOISE! Thanks for sharing!

Happy Pink Saturday.

Oh Grace you were such a lucky girl! It took me 50 years to get to stay at the Plaza...my husband took me there for my special birthday :-) I was so sad when they closed most of the hotel to turn it into condos.

I will have to visit the gift shop this Christmas season and dream a little as I'm sure there will be nothing in it that I could afford..lol
